About Jacqui….. the Earth Spirited Raven Faerie…….  Look through the chaos….part the strands of multi hued threads, wools and webs….lift the veils of gossamer fabrics, flower scattered tulles and rainbow shimmering petals and peer into the secret realm. There is a riot of Faerie spun fabrics; freshwater pearls, collected trinkets and treasures; jewelled buttons, opalescent gems and agates; crystalline points and gathered leaves and tree barks; and drifts of pressed flowers. Tables are awash with splashes of brightly coloured paints and enamels; scatterings of  chipped amethysts and sparkling cut glass; knotted wires and sun sparkled glitter. Look deeper still and see a movement between the mayhem, an artist in her element…still and calm within her bower…..Jacqui’s world!  She is a designer/artist not afraid of the challenge of working in any media- be it clay, polymers, paint, collage….any new material that is released into the art world… on the contrary she is eager to embrace the new, or take the traditional, and see how far she can push the materials, especially in the most unexpected directions…..and preferably with a heady combination of as many techniques as possible….after all why just stick to one art-form per canvas?  Nature is her inspiration, and a dash of Faerie, with an eye constantly noticing new textures within the trees, how colours change in the life of a flower, how light moves and paints the skies with impossible streaks and hues…..it is the wonder of it all that keeps her alive and excited! And nature in its ever-changing aspect keeps her work in a continual state of flux and evolution that is free flowing, giving all of her art a very loose, almost nature created atmosphere.  Her background is one of dance… classical ballet (and a dash of soul- after all she is a Manchester girl at heart!), a deep passion for all things historical and cultural; and a reverence for all things spiritual. Her art is all about capturing movement, so light plays on curves and ripples as sun on water…and enhanced by baroque or freshwater pearls and natural stones, but always soft and emotive. There are no squares in this Earth spirit’s world, on the contrary there is a constant battle against the straight line!     Having turned her back on a jewellery business world that involved working with Spain, and being a city girl born and bred, since heading South West she has been able to immerse herself in a rediscovered world of natural creativity, and a constant strive forward to express love and healing through her art….and along the way hopefully encouraging that artistic expression in others…. Spreading the chaos of gems, jewels, threads, glitter and majick through the universe!
